Why daily blogging?

I’ve decided to write every day throughout November. I’ve been reading Seth Godin’s blog for many months and felt encouraged by his praise of daily writing but intimidated by his intelligence and insight.

Most of my clear thoughts come during my daily walks with my mini schnauzer, Mahler. Then the world slows and simplifies and I text a friend when I return. This daily blogging gives me an opportunity to formulate those thoughts, within minutes, into something more generous.

They are not polished or perfect, because that’s not the point. They’re artefacts of the positive space we create when we look outside of ourselves - and my dog makes me do that.

I was also tired of the majority voices in this space appearing to be male, so this is a tiny step in redressing the balance. Are you doing the same?
