Early in the city
One of the wonderful things about owning a dog is being forced out of the house relatively early in the day. At the weekend this means we have more time to enjoy the morning light halos and waking up our vocal cords.
It also means observing the local goings-on when people are still easing themselves into the day: emerging from houses, taking children to classes, picking up a few groceries.
It feels like a privilege to see the city at this time - when it’s quiet, considered, throwing off its assumptions.
